"La Caza" gave me a pretty good idea about how scary The Dark Descent would've been if I hadn't been reading a walkthrough.

I just watched "La Caza" while I actually played The Dark Descent. ish games, one I played and one I didn't. Period.Įrgh, this is probably making no sense right now, because I'm talking about 2. Without them I would've been completely paralyzed with terror and unable to play the game. Even with all the warnings, the game scared me. However, "La Caza" reminds me how terrified I would've been if I hadn't been warned. I know that takes a lot out of the game, but the game still scared me quite a bit.

When I started getting stuck a lot, I just played the rest of the game while following instructions on the internet and looking at maps. Right now adrenaline is humming through my fingertips and behind my eyeballs and I'm really really tense.įor a while I was feeling some regret that I, er, "cheated" while playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent. So instead of playing the custom story that I heard was interesting, I just watched someone else play through it on YouTube.Īnd now I am very, very glad I didn't play it, because simply watching it was enough to terrify me. I already played one conversion mod for Amnesia: The Dark Descent (it was called "White Night"), but I didn't want to go through the whole conversion thing again because I'm not super comfortable with it.
